US Air Force Integrates AI in Battle Management

The US Air Force is now quickly applying the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in battle management operations in its experiments, such as the DASH sprints, to enable commanders to make decisions quickly and smartly by evaluating complex data to develop “Courses of Action” in machine-speed decision-making, aimed at speeding up the process of targeting and resource allocation while ensuring that it retains important human review.

Key Initiatives & Experiments

DASH (Decision Advantage Sprint for Human-Machine Teaming): Set of fast-paced experiments (e.g., DASH 2 in Las Vegas) that evaluate AI tools for matching &c. (Effects/weapons & platforms to targets) that generate thousands of possible solutions in minutes.

Capstone 2025 – Large-scale event focusing on the integration of AI for command and control (C2) and dynamic targeting, with multiple services and partners.
